Let's Get Creating!

Grammar Scavenger Hunt

Who says scavenger hunts are just for finding physical objects? I have a twist for you - a Scavenger Hunt for clues! In this activity, learners will be on a search for clue sentence strips that will lead them to a specific prize, location, or object. The catch though, in order to head to their next clue strip, they must first identify the errors in the clue's sentence. Once all the corrections have been made to the clue's sentence, players can then race to the next location. Players will be on a correct-the-sentence spree while having fun and reaching the end goal. I used this concept in our Tiki Unit Lesson to find the tiki head, and my kids were eagerly correcting grammar and punctuation errors in order to get the tiki.

Comprehension Pictionary

Unleash your inner artist with Comprehension Pictionary! Read a short story to each player, individually, then allow them to draw a picture of an event or key moment from the story. Once each player has their picture drawn, swap them among the players, and have them see if they can identify/depict the scene. It's a fantastic way to further comprehension skills, improve visual communication skills, and have a blast with your family. Get ready for some hilarious moments and artistic masterpieces!

Storytelling Bonanza

Words come alive when they are woven into stories. Gather your learners and start a Storytelling Bonanza! Each person contributes a sentence or a paragraph using a word that the previous person used. The story can take unexpected twists and turns as each word adds a new dimension to the narrative. Not only will you enhance your learner's vocabulary, but you'll also sharpen storytelling prowess and creativity. Get ready to create literary masterpieces together!
