Gather Your Herd!

With the joyous Christmas season upon us, I wanted to begin our reindeer homeschool study with a magical and festive treat. And what is more magical to a child than dessert? Well, maybe some things, but the desire for chocolate is strong in our home, and has yet to not light up their faces!

Keeping the sweet thought going, I knew if my idea could transform from the ingredients to an adorable reindeer, I would certainly please my little herd.

So I pulled together the ingredients for success-

chocolate and fun, and created

Something to dig your hooves into!

Here's hoping you and your pack enjoy creating and indulging in these delightful dessert cups as much as we did.

Happy Holidays!

Piping the melted chocolate

Step 1: Crush or chop the peanuts. Set aside.

Step 2: Cut off a section of parchment paper. Draw the outline of reindeer antler sets using a pen/pencil.

Step 3: Prepare a baking sheet with the antler parchment paper. Cut another section of parchment paper and lay over top of the antler templates on the baking sheet.

Step 4: Pour the candy melts into a microwavable bowl. Heat them in the microwave until melted. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave.

Step 5: Spoon the melted candy melts into a piping bag or piping tool, if available, and fill in the antler templates with the chocolate. If no piping tool is available, spoon the chocolate onto the parchment paper following the template.

Following the antler template

Step 6: Sprinkle the crushed peanuts on top of

still melted chocolate.

Step 7: Place the baking sheet with the antlers

into the freezer for 2 minutes to allow the

chocolate to harden.

Step 8: Fill a clear cup with 2 scoops of chocolate ice

cream. Dip the red gumball in the remaining melted candy melts, and stick to the front of the cup, to serve as the nose. Next, dip 2 candy eyes in the melted candy melts, and stick them to the cup near the nose.

NOTE: You will need to hold the gumball and candy eyes in place until the melted chocolate hardens and adheres to the cup.

Step 9: Remove the chocolate antlers from the freezer.

Gently remove a pair of antlers from the paper. Insert the antlers into the ice cream to complete the reindeer.

Step 10: Serve and enjoy from nose to antlers!
