Making home school lessons for the month of October is frightening...in a good way! With all the festivities and holiday spirit in the air, the themes and ideas for weekly units are in abundance. Once I checked off the pumpkins, bats, and witches, the next great theme to come to mind was monsters. There are a variety of ways to go with this theme- friendly, scary, wacky, the choice is yours.



Here Be Monsters...


Of the fun kind, of course. Being that my kids favor the silly and friendly type of creatures, I set out on a search for the stories that were built with these kinds of monsters in mind. These entertaining and lighthearted stories will be sure to please your young ones and will be a great launching pad for the rest of your lesson planning




 


How to Catch a Monster by Adam Wallace
