SLOW AND SWEET!
Snails may be slow, but we've made them sweet with this adorable kitchen creation.
Filling our homeschool study about snails was, at some points, a bit off-putting. I mean, they secrete slime, fire "love darts" at each other (mucus containing hormones), and their bodies are boneless, soft masses. To most, the thought of a snail wouldn't inspired a delicious food craft, but as a homeschool mom, it's all in a day's work.
In all our years of homeschooling, working and creating in the kitchen together is something we treasure, and with each new lesson plan, we make more than tasty snacks and recipes to aid in our learning, we make sweet memories together.
Since our lesson plan on snails was going to be no exception, off to the kitchen we
"ESCAR-GO-ED!"
This kitchen creation soon became one of my favorites, and even left out the gross and slowness of an actual snail.
If you have a snail-lover in your family, these treats are sure to "S-NAIL IT!"

Snail Rolls
What You'll Need:
Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
Candy melts (green)
Pocky Sticks
Graham Crackers (optional for display)
Parchment paper
Paper and marker (for template)
Let's Make It!
Step 1: Prepare the cinnamon rolls according
to the instructions on packaging.
Step 2: Prepare the template. On paper, draw an outline of a snail's body/head. Place the template on a tray or baking sheet. Cover the template with parchment paper.
Step 3: Add the green candy melts to a microwavable bowl. Heat the candies until melted. Carefully removed the bowl from the microwave.
Step 4: Make the snail body. Spoon on the melted candy onto the parchment paper, using the template shown underneath as a guide.
Step 5: Break a Pocky Stick into thirds. Add 2 of the broken sections to the melted candy as antennae. Cover the exposed sticks with melted candy.
Step 6: Once the snail body is complete, place the tray into the refrigerator for approximately 2 minutes, until the candy has hardened.
Step 7: Once the candy has hardened, remove from the refrigerator.
Step 8: Make a small slice into a side of a cinnamon roll and insert the candy snail into it.
Step 9: Serve with a trail of frosting, or crush up graham crackers and place each assembled snail into the graham crackers. Drip the frosting behind each snail to
resemble a trail.
ENJOY!
